The brief was to transform an old residential terrace into a bright, functional office space. The time frame was quick, we needed to design, construct and fit out the building within 16 weeks. Light is always the enemy of these small terraces so we designed a beautiful big single sheet skylight to be installed, driving sunshine into the heart of the building. We also opened up the back wall, cladding it in sandstone in an ode to the history of the local area and building techniques, it allows light to travel from the third floor all the way down to the basement. With clients strong love of design and we thought this was a great opportunity to showcase renowned Australian designers in the fit out and finishes, it includes works by Ross Gardam, Adam Goodrum, Christopher Boots and others . The result is a highly functional, beautiful and unique space that is a joy to work in.
